so sometimes i choose to just get in the booth and spit. it comes in phases. sometimes i don’t feel like grabbing my journal and flipping through until i find a rap i like. sometimes it just has to come off the top of the head.
i’ve gotten some of my best work this way.. also sometimes just the energy of the studio is too high to try and buckle down with written verses… im sure rappers can relate.
anyways, the year was 2023 and i was working pretty heavily with Phyzikal. I had been collecting some songs that i had recorded over the past few months in my apartment.
then, on my euro trip with Danny and Jeff (see Don’t Smoke) I recorded Back 2 Berlin with my old college friend Santi.
I just kept recording.
This tape was decent to me. It was fun making the album art and it was in a cool time as I felt my style was so fluid that things felt super languid.
